A new year...
New Years is a time to look back and look ahead. To give God thanks for what has been and ask for His guiding hand in what is to come.
A quick recap of our recent meetings:
November and December we partied it up TO THE FULL! At our November meeting, we hosted a vendor fair with over 10 vendors. All proceeds went to Operation Christmas Child. Our group was able to fill (to the full) 4 boxes for two preteen girls and two preteen boys. These boxes were delivered to children in Mexico connected with the Samaritan's Purse organization. We also gleaned tip and tricks from Ashlee at Queen City Concierge for decluttering and organizing our homes in preparation for Christmas.
We then celebrated the coming advent season in early December and partied like a mother. We centered around "Unhurried Christmas" devotional. We put this into practice by enjoying friendship, food and festivities. Our kids and caregivers joined in the fun with crafts and goodies. All of our moms and caregivers left with locally sourced, handmade bath bombs with a signature scent created just for us by Miranda at Sweetgrass Soapery.
We started the year with an engaging and thought provoking speaker, Beth from Tapestry Ministries. She challenged our preconceived notions of church and evangelism with a bold invitation to show love and shine the light of Jesus in our everyday lives. Tapestry Ministries desires to build a bridge between the church and those on the fringes of the church. They create safe spaces where people from different walks of life, different beliefs, and diverse opinions can gather together. Beth's disarming and honest approach sent tears of laughter streaming down our faces (and although nobody said so... we may have laughed so hard two drops of pee came out).
We are eagerly looking forward to the remainder of the year. Join us and fill your cups to the full!
